If you want a natural small type of cat that isn’t really that hard to pet and breed, here are some of the best, cute and adorable cat breeds in the world.

Oriental

This small breed of cat probably has the funniest face among all others. It has unique ears that might imply that it doesn’t naturally match the shape or figure of that cat’s face. In fact, the ears of the Oriental cat are the main characteristic indicator that the cat is indeed an Oriental breed. The cat is agile and can move around small and close areas with no problems. They have small and short hair that takes a long time to grow, making hair maintenance and shedding lesser than other cat breeds.

They are great for people whose suffering from anxiety, depression and it’s a good pet for old people as it doesn’t grow large and heavy which makes them easier to handle. All you’d need to keep them around is a good cat collar and you’re good to go.

The name literally stands as it is. Munchkin cats have their name derived from the characteristics of a munchkin from the book which describes the physic of the character of a small child or a short person. They are small and shiny cats that apart from being small, they tend to be super adorable and cute as they are fluffy and chubby. There are two types of Japanese bobtail when it comes to size, small and large. Small breeds of Japanese Bobtail have the same traits and characteristics with the large type or breed. They only differ in size but they are practically the same when it comes to habit, nature, and characteristics. They are a friendly and adorable cat. HelloKitty was actually inspired by this type of cat.

It is a small breed of cat that has characteristics that survived for different generations. There are two types of American Curl, the long-haired and the short haired. But either of the two holds the same nature and characteristics. They are usually identified by the unique structure of their ears which looks kind of like it has been folded backward.

Singapura

They are highly interactive with humans. By the name of it, this cat originated from the country of Singapore. They are highly adaptive to environmental change and can highly survive in most parts of the world.

Sakoke

Picture
Sakoke is not just a cute and adorable, small cat breed, it’s also one of the rarest. Some of you might even hear of it just now. The cat is naturally friendly and playful in nature. They love interactive with humans and not like those grumpy, boss-like cat breeds. The Sakoke cats are usually affectionate to their owners. Some of them are even vocal where they try to communicate with you with what they want or if they want to play with you.

Cornish Rex

Picture
A good choice of cat breed to consider would be the Cornish Rex cat. It is a shorthaired cat, skinny but with large ears. The structure of the ear could be easily noticed, indicating that the cat is a Cornish Rex as it’s not really proportional to the cat’s body. Some people even see a rat-like cat due to its physique. The cat loves to cuddle, play and very affectionate to everyone around them, especially with human companions.

Burmese

Picture
This breed originated in some counties around Southeast Asia. They are hardworking cats. Not in the sense that they do or help you with your day to day chores, but instead, keep themselves busy. You’d only see them do nothing if they are resting or sleeping. Of course, they are also affectionate. If they’re running out of things to do, they’d spend some time with you cuddling, pampering, or playing.

Minskin

Picture
The Minskin cat is a breed combination of a Sphynx and a Munchkin Cat. That’s why it looks like a small breed of Sphynx cat. However, this small cat breed is hairless. They might look like a large new-born rat but in a cute and adorable way. Minskin cat is very charming, playful and affectionate. They like to play and prowl around. The cat has a weird behavior of sleeping in high places. They usually take all the daytime to sleep and go wild at night time. For this cat breed, you might want to consider getting the best cat toy so that they’ll have something to do at night and won’t disturb your sleep.

Great people we have met! - Linda

We would like to introduce you to some of our caregivers. KITTY in NY has selected over the years some outstanding people who have one thing in common: they LOVE cats!

I have had pets of all sorts for all of my life and, always, I have had cats. I understand cats; they seem to match my nature. I resonate with their independence and understand and respect their signals.  For the last five years, for the first time in my life, I have not had a cat of my own. I have, however, had plenty of cats in my life, as I have been cat/house sitting my way around the world. This has given me the opportunity to not only have some amazing travel experiences but also to get to know many different cats of various types and personalities. I especially remember Potu, a big white, muscular male who loved to sleep purring on my chest all night with his paw sweetly inserted in my cupped hand. Then there was Glimpsey, a beautiful Egyptian Maus. He was full of mischief and very personable until it was time for his breathing treatment, (He was asthmatic). Then he would hide in places that were very hard to find and required much patience and coaxing. I wish I had know then about the app with the sounds of different cats meowing. Now, I would just play those sounds and I bet he's be out in no time. Then, of course, there was Mr Gibbs, a British Shorthair.  With his big head, and thick coat of hair, he would sit and stare at me with those big round, dark Shorthair eyes.....what a very particular, peculiar and endearing creature he was. It was like spending time with the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

I am a retired psychotherapist. I enjoy caring for people and animal. I find it fills out my heart and brings me joy. Both during my many years as a cat mama and my past five as a cat/house-sitter I have honed my skills in caring for ailing cats.  I have administered breathing treatments, given shots and medications, and dressed wounds among other things.  Additionally, I have dealt with the whole gamut of personalities from the highly anxious to the very needy and everything in between. I am very aware that it may not be only the cat that is feeling a bit anxious about the separation of pet and owner. I always send pictures and little updates so the owners can rest assured that their beloved pet(s) are well cared for.

I love cats and miss having cat energy in my life and I look forward to taking care of yours.  I have a whole wall of windows with a nice wide sill, just the right size for a cat to stretch out and enjoy the warm afternoon sun.  My space is clutter free and there are many soft snuggly kitty spots to be discovered. If a visiting cat wants to snuggle in a chair with me or curl up in my bed for the night I am more than happy to share. Now that I am retired I fill my life with the things I love:  dance, photography, writing, reading and cats.

If you live in Chelsea, Linda is the perfect caregiver for your kitties! She can welcome your cat in her home, where he/she will be the only pet! In-home boarding is recommended for mid/long term services or cats who love human company. Contact us and send more details about the service you need.

She also has cat dishes and a litter box, so I just needed to bring the supplies and some toys, a scratching post, etc. I would highly recommend her to anyone..

22 Ways Cats Make Humans Healthy And Happy!

By Emily Parker, Catological.com
For thousands of years, cats have captivated humans in numerous ways. From their ability to seemingly always land on their feet to having an attitude exuding confidence in any situation, cats are looked at as very unique creatures. And as more and more research is conducted on how kitties impact our lives, the results are simply astounding. Whether helping their humans have less anxiety and depression to keeping them healthy by having lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, cats can seemingly do almost anything.

Because today's world is so hectic, it's more important than ever to slow down and smell the catnip now and then. When it comes to doing this, cats definitely lead by example. Since they are experts at taking plenty of naps each day and taking things as they come, they can show their humans that even though life has plenty going on each day, it's fine to take it easy now and then.

And if you're tired of going to the doctor for various ailments time after time, owning a kitty can save you plenty of money and time when it comes to your healthcare. According to researchers, cat owners can save thousands of dollars per year that would usually be spent on doctor's visits and prescription medications. In fact, some studies have shown that cat owners reduce their blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels so much that in some cases they have been able to reduce or even eliminate some of their medications.

In many families, autism is a condition numerous children deal with on a daily basis. While there are many great therapies designed to help these children communicate better with those around them, research has shown cats can be more effective at this than almost anything or anybody. In numerous studies, autistic children who owned cats were able to develop better communication skills that those autistic kids who did not own cats.

Even though each of these facts are certainly interesting, there are many more where these came from. To find out more about the incredible powers of cats, please visit www.catological.com/22-ways-cats-make-people-happier-healthier/.
