When I was four, a stray cat (which my brother was secretly feeding) ran into my house and birthed three kittens. We weren’t a pet family at that time and my parents only had childhood experiences of raising dogs. 

We became pet/cat people overnight. 

Of that litter, one survived for 20 beautiful years. Chichi and I grew up together. Because of her, I’ve always been able to connect with cats — even ‘tough’ cats or strays. She wasn’t the only cat I raised; we came to own two other cats in her lifetime. The three cats couldn’t be more different, and yet, my relationship with each was special. Eventually, they all passed and I wasn’t sure I’d jump back into owning a cat because I was afraid I’d never find cats as great. I was so wrong.
​Erika has been cat-sitting with Kitty in NY for a few years. She is excited to offer in-home boarding for her clients. She grew up with three cats and was the loving cat-mama to Figaro for 8 years. Fig was a special cat; anxious, high-needs with his health, and older when she adopted him. He taught her patience and lots of ways to administer medications. Erika is comfortable administering fluids and taking care of high-needs kitties. She understands how stressful it is to leave your sweet kitty when they have lots going on. 

She is a bit of a cat whisperer - loves getting even the shyest/suspicious kitties to engage in play. However, she never forces cats beyond their comfort zone - doesn't mind giving a cat its space if that is what it wants. ​

Hello, I’m Jen. Originally from Pennsylvania I’ve been a New Yorker for the past 18 years. I love all animals but have a particular soft spot for cats. I currently live with 5 sweet little rescues, two of whom are blind. All of whom are so very sweet and loving. Each of these darlings have been with me since they were kittens. Lucy and Lucky are the senior citizens, 15 and 14 years old. Lucky is a funny little boy who thrives on beauty treatments with the hair dryer and is obsessed with water. Actually likes to drink out of a glass. And this silly fella jumps in the shower with me. How cute is that! I am well-schooled in giving medications as well as shots or fluids, and have been through it all with them. Every morning I wake with a cat by my head and love it. I would love to help take care of your fur babies as well.

I do feel that Oscar has the passion and love for cats and it reflected on his cat-sitting works. My cat is shy, not every caregiver got the chance to see or pet my cat but Oscar made it all, which took me by surprise. I guess my cat likes him!

Roland took care of our cat Chessy really well. When we had dropped her off with Roland, he sent pictures of her settling down and making her way around in his home - hiding, coming out and exploring, eating food, using her litter box. The pictures made us relieved that she was doing ok. Roland also made sure he sent regulars updates/ pictures. He also allowed our cat to treat his home like her own home.

Additionally, Roland was very flexible with us regarding the pick up and drop off time. Our return flight was delayed by 2 hours and Roland was flexible with the pick up time being delayed by us.

I really like all kinds of animals, but I remember thinking even as a child that cats were especially endearing. I've had six cats of my own, including the gray tabby I have now, and I have cared for many more. I've given a lot of pills to cats, and I once had a diabetic cat that I gave shots to every day (and she recovered!), so I am comfortable with those situations. I live in the West Village, work from home as an editor and have an art studio in Brooklyn. My schedule is flexible, though mornings and evenings are when I'm most available to visit kitty clients. A native of Romania, I lived in Belgium for a number of years before coming to the US. I now very much enjoy life in New York City, and this is home. As a licensed Real Estate professional I often work from home, and have a flexible schedule. My one bedroom apartment, located in East Harlem (111th Street), has the space and ambience for your kitty to play. Since I have a backyard with trees your kitty can enjoy watching the birds and squirrels from the window. 

Presley was 7 year old when he adopted me. He was chuck-full of personality. When I sat in a chair he’d jump in my lap. He constantly followed me around the house, slept in bed with me, and showed his discontent when I was going out. A very playful fellow he loved having his belly rubbed. He lived to be 14 years old and I miss him to this day.

My friend has a new kitty, just 6 months old. She gets very excited when I visit, jumps around and plays with everything that moves, chews on my fingers…ah, so adorable.

Hi, my name is Amber! I love cats but currently don’t have the capacity for one of my own so I’d love to take care of yours. I’ve grown up with cats, fostered, and volunteered with animal shelters for over 7 years, and I’ve gotten to know almost every kind of cat there is. I love meeting new kitties and always find joy when a shy cat opens up to me! 

I have experience with pills and liquid medication if your cat needs to be medicated, and I’m happy to provide a calm, welcoming environment for your cat while you’re away.

Amber was great! Communication beforehand and during Willow's stay with her was super easy, and she was extremely flexible in accommodating our schedule (early drop off/late pickup). We received pictures of him every 3rd day and he clearly enjoyed his stay at her place. Thank you!

Amber is friendly, super sweet, and great with communication. She was very attentive in the talking process of understanding Toby's needs and typical care schedule, and I appreciated how much space he had to explore once he settled into her apartment. I could tell from the pictures she sent me that he felt super comfortable with her, and knowing that she's familiar with cats/had cats in the past only made me feel more secure with leaving Toby in her care. Gold stars, would recommend!

Amber did an amazing job caring for our cats. From our initial call I could tell she’s had a lot of experience with cats. While we were away she was very communicative in sending us photos and videos of the cats daily as well telling us how the cats were doing. It gave us a peace of mind to know the cats were comfortable in their new temporary home. We would definitely leave the cats in her care again.

Amber was very communicative throughout the process. She did everything to make my kitties feel comfortable, even when one had unexpected anxiety (and showed it by wailing). I was able to visit them and give them anti-anxiety medicine during their stay. By the end, I could tell my cats were comfortable with Amber and she took very good care of them.

I picked up Baraka today and brought her home. Just writing to tell you Amber did an excellent job! Baraka got comfortable with her very fast. Hey, I’m Val! I’m an avid animal lover and your feline’s future friend. Since I was a kid, I raised all sorts of animals from ferrets to iguanas to chinchillas. I’ve had the pleasure of working at an animal hospital in Bayside, an adult care facility in Park Slope and currently teach part-time at a school in Kew Gardens, Queens. It is one of my callings in life to care for the unspoken souls of this world, be it critters, children or the elderly. When I’m not trying to save the world, I’m usually playing/listening to music, studying astrology or attempting to write the next great screenplay. If you reside in Queens, especially the Hillside/Briarwood/Jamaica area, I’m your guy! I can ensure you that your pet will not only be safe and sound, but will be dwelling in a both peaceful and spiritual environment.
