My name is Patti and I live in Jersey City with a rescue cat named Jason. He is the boss and he allows me the privilege of living with him. I'm a retired emergency room nurse and can give your cat medications including Insulin, eye medications, and oral medications. I'm a California transplant and moved here to be close to Manhattan and all the wonder that is NYC. If you live in Jersey City, Hoboken, or lower Manhattan I would be happy to take care of your cat while you are away. You will receive daily updates and photos of your baby while you are away. Patricia was an amazing cat sitter. She was considerate and timely with her updates and easily dealt with issues that came up in accessing our apartment. The kitties were happy and comfortable with her based on the updates we saw, plus they looked healthy and happy when we came back. She went above and beyond with cleaning up cat litter the cats dragged around the living room and the cardboard they ripped up. She was incredibly sweet, both the cats and us loved working with her.

My name is Carolina, and I’m from Colombia. I am passionate about cats, and this love for felines awakened in me when I adopted my kittens Lupita and Lulu. Since then, I have learned to understand the language of cats, interpreting their signals when they want to play, are hungry, or not feeling well. I have a sensitive and loving relationship with cats, and I greatly enjoy spending time with them as they provide me with fun and enriching moments in my life. Aside from my love for cats, I also have other interests. I enjoy reading, and I have recently developed a new passion for cycling, which allows me to explore the outdoors and experience nature. Carolina was lovely in person and faithfully sent me videos of her caring for and playing with my 2 cats. They are very energetic and she made a great effort! I could tell she was very sweet with them, and they took her. She was creative in finding different amusements for them. Also, above and beyond, she was extremely patient and helpful when one of my cats acted out by using the rug instead of the litter! I couldn’t have had a better experience and will certainly recommend Kitty in NY.

Carolina was phenomenal. From the very first text message we exchanged, she was prompt and clear in communicating. She was attentive to the things about my cat that I brought up. While my family was traveling, she sent texts and multiple videos of her sessions with my cat after each visit. I was blown away by her attentiveness; she even brought her own set of cat toys to supplement play time and spent a lot of time at each session! She clearly and genuinely loves cats. I can't recommend Carolina enough.

Kitty in NY has been interested in sharing the love of cats among different online platforms. Our Facebook page was launched a few months after Kitty in NY opened. Since 2011 we have become very popular and our Facebook page has over 3,500 likes. Our posts reach more and more users every day. We have expanded and social media is part of our everyday work tasks. We want our friends, clients and followers to enjoy cat pics and learn more about cats: their traits, personality, cat toys, tools and tips about their care. We are passionate about cats and want to know more about them every day.

I always enjoyed cat company. I'm intrigued by their different personalities and it's rewarding to be friends with a very shy kitty. Since I was little I felt that connection with felines, my grandmother's cats were always best friends! If you need help with your cat I will be glad to provide a safe and loving environment until you return.

Boarding is recommended for very social kitties or cats that require a daily care routine (on medication, frequent brushing...) You bring your kitties to the caregiver's apartment where they will be the only pets. Regular updates will be sent during the service, so you know your cat is doing great. Dara has years of cat sitting experience. Throughout her life, she has had 10 cats, each living well into old age. She has experience with feline asthma, diabetes, anxiety, oral medication insertion, and hygiene assistance (ears, teeth, and baths). Dara LOVES cats and will bring the same care to your baby that she brings to hers. She cannot wait to meet your kitty!

Cat memories: Parisian kitten

We asked our caregivers and clients to share with us some of their cat memories. A Parisian short tale:

It was a sticky and wet Parisian spring. I was going through a really rough time. All of a sudden I decided to adopt a kitten. I did not give it much thought, it was an impulse. Somehow it was as if that change would help me make all the decisions and changes I had to do with my life. Poor Oscar! It was a black kitten, about 6 weeks old. I passed by a veterinarian office close to my apartment. They had four kittens up for adoption. The adoption fee was around 100 dollars (to cover the shots and vet check up). That kitten turned my apartment in a mess! I lived in a studio apartment at the time, no closet. The kitten would play with my clothes, wake me up during the night. It was a horrible experience. If I had to mention something good, the little guy would cuddle by me and purr from time to time. He was a simple kitten, I was not ready. I called the vet a few days later: "Please, please take him back. You can keep the adoption fee." When I returned from the vet it felt lonely and sad. The gray Parisian sky seemed even more menacing from my kitchen window. I had a long road ahead of me. I hope Oscar found a good home, it was not his fault, it was all mine.
