Hello, my name is Maria Belen, I am Ecuadorian, I moved to New York eight years ago, I work in the marketing department of a law firm. I really like spending my free time at home, I love cooking and having cat company from time to time sounds like a great idea. In Ecuador I had two cats that I loved and with whom I was able to create a relationship that I will never forget. Now I live alone and the doors of my house are open for such a pleasant visitor.

It is stressful to leave our beloved felines when we travel. Boarding is recommended for your longer term needs, you bring your cat to the caregiver's apartment where he/she will be the only pet. Hello, I’m Jen. Originally from Pennsylvania I’ve been a New Yorker for the past 18 years. I love all animals but have a particular soft spot for cats. I currently live with 5 sweet little rescues, two of whom are blind. All of whom are so very sweet and loving. Each of these darlings have been with me since they were kittens. Lucy and Lucky are the senior citizens, 15 and 14 years old. Lucky is a funny little boy who thrives on beauty treatments with the hair dryer and is obsessed with water. Actually likes to drink out of a glass. And this silly fella jumps in the shower with me. How cute is that! I am well-schooled in giving medications as well as shots or fluids, and have been through it all with them. Every morning I wake with a cat by my head and love it. I would love to help take care of your fur babies as well.

With each visit, Oscar sent texts with pics and videos providing evidence he was making an effort to interact w/ my anti-social cat, Buddy. Oscar even got Buddy to play w/ toys that I thought he had long ago lost interest in. It was clear from when I introduced Oscar to Buddy that he was a cat person - even Buddy was immediately rubbing against his legs. When I returned home after a 4-day weekend, Buddy was clearly healthy and the apartment was not the wreck I expected from my cat.

I consider myself a Cat Mom. When I was five I gave up on dolls when my parents gave me my first cat and I named her Marbles. I had her until the year I graduated high school. While Marbles will always hold a special place in my heart, I learned that I could love other cats. When I married John, I learned that he loved cats too. We had Fellini for over twelve years. When Fellini passed we were devastated. The only comfort for us came when we adopted two rescues Leo and Lucy. They filled our apartment with joy. Last year, Lucia passed at age 15 and Leo at age 18. They were our kids. We loved watching TV with them by our side, giving Leo his morning brush and playing with them way past our bed-time. While we know we can never replace them, we welcome house cats that need love when their family is away. We understand that each cat is unique and we follow all directions given by the cat’s family. It was always hard for John and I to leave our cats for a trip. We hope we can make people feel at ease knowing their cats will be loved and taken care of.

Theresa - I have been in education for over 30 years, first as a classroom teacher and later as an Assistant Principal in a New York City public school. I am currently semi retired but continue to work at my school a few days per week.
John - John is retired but continues to consult teachers on their retirement benefits several hours per week.

As far back as I can remember my family has always had cats. Being a former cat owner for over 10 years gives me great experience in handling these curious an fun creatures.

I currently am a physical trainer which allows me a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I spend most of my downs hours relaxing at my apartment which will ensure your precious little animals will be well taken care of and given lots of attention.

Roland took care of our cat Chessy really well. When we had dropped her off with Roland, he sent pictures of her settling down and making her way around in his home - hiding, coming out and exploring, eating food, using her litter box. The pictures made us relieved that she was doing ok. Roland also made sure he sent regulars updates/ pictures. He also allowed our cat to treat his home like her own home.

Additionally, Roland was very flexible with us regarding the pick up and drop off time. Our return flight was delayed by 2 hours and Roland was flexible with the pick up time being delayed by us.

Barry lives on his own in a studio located at 666 West End Ave (92nd St) in Manhattan. He loves animals and enjoys taking care of cats.

I'm a writer and editor who lives in a studio on the Upper West Side (90s/West End Ave.). I hail from Massachusetts but have lived in New York City for 30 years. I've boarded cats for several years now, and if you live within a radius of a few blocks and would rather have me visit your apartment to attend to your cat (I did that once), that's fine. I've taken care of several cats over the past few years (I wish I had a photo of Dexter!), and the cat you see accompanying my photo is one of my favorites, Eh-Gee (Korean name/Korean owners). Look at the face!

If you live close to the UWS in Manhattan Barry could provide a nice temporary home for your cat. He made a point of learning about her preferences, daily routine, eating habits, likes and dislikes, etc. From the moment I met William I knew that my cat would be in very good hands. William loves and understands cats. He sent me daily updates with pictures and videos. My cat is rather hard to please and is not usually friendly with strangers. I was amazed at how quickly she warmed up to William. They say that cats are good judges of character. William is such a warm, kind and caring person that even my shy and unsocial cat felt at ease with him. I think she received more attention from him that she does from me. I really like all kinds of animals, but I remember thinking even as a child that cats were especially endearing. I've had six cats of my own, including the gray tabby I have now, and I have cared for many more. I've given a lot of pills to cats, and I once had a diabetic cat that I gave shots to every day (and she recovered!), so I am comfortable with those situations. I live in the West Village, work from home as an editor and have an art studio in Brooklyn. My schedule is flexible, though mornings and evenings are when I'm most available to visit kitty clients. Christmas eve

Matt happened to be a young guy, on his late 30’s. He limped a little bit, as if he had had an accident and was still recovering. One of his eyes was slightly closed (as if he was always winking an eye). His tone was very soft and soothing. He was going away for the holidays, visiting his girlfriend’s family in Paris. That is why they couldn't take their cat Sisi with them. Sisi and Matt had a common trait: their striking blue eyes.

Sisi was an inquisitive and talkative Siamese. Her constant low tone meowing accompanied her all day long, as if she was holding a conversation with herself. She was athletic and thin. I soon found her sleeping on top of the fridge or high on the kitchen cabinets. She ignored me all day. We inhabited the same space but in parallel dimensions.

Anyway, we were destined to share that Christmas season. It was not a sad or melancholic period. After my childhood I never cared for Christmas. The brotherly love and cheer of the season did not correspond to what I saw around me every day. I wasn’t into Christmas shopping and decorations. When I was a young woman I was convinced no dress or make up would help me look better, I thought my body was hideous. This yearly invasion of red, green and snow marked the beginning of long winter. On Christmas eve, Sisi had a can of Fancy Feast (flaked grilled salmon) and I heated a can of Campbell Chicken Soup. It was a quiet Christmas eve, just the two of us. Mrs Pearl and Sisi, my siamese kitty guest.. After having dinner we both moved in silence to the living room were Sisi took a nap and I watched cheap Christmas flicks on channel 31. Merry Christmas!

Sharisse was excellent! We have been using Helen downtown for years and love her, so it was a big deal to switch things up for our cats when we moved. She took great care to make sure she understood all aspects of personalities and routines and then sent us lots of pictures and notes.

Sharisse was very thorough in preparing for her appointment, including asking important clarifying questions (regarding feeding instructions, cat personalities, etc.) and checking in with me in advance of the appointment to reconfirm & ensure there hadn't been any changes. I appreciated that she also provided an approximate time window for when she would stop by. During the appointment, Sharisse followed our instructions perfectly, and went above & beyond with tidying up the cat litter area. I was super impressed and delighted that Sharisse brought a set of cat toys with her, and sent us photos and videos of playtime - Leo really enjoyed himself! (Archie prefers to avoid interaction with new people, so she just watched.) Sharisse is a brilliant, well-organized caregiver who clearly loves & understands cats. I hope to book her for our next trip!

Sharisse was awesome! She wrote down all the instructions to be sure not to miss anything. Every morning and night, she sent me photos and videos of my cat with some text saying exactly what she had done with him and how he was doing. The videos showed her playing with him, brushing him, or him eating. He looked like he was doing really well and having a lot of fun with her, so I wasn't worried about him at all while I was gone! She told me that she really loves cats, which is evident. She bonded with my cat easily and I completely trusted her with him. She was also very flexible and easy to work with.

We would like to introduce you to some of our caregivers. KITTY in NY has selected over the years some outstanding people who have one thing in common: they LOVE cats!

A native of Romania, I lived in Belgium for a number of years before coming to the US. I now very much enjoy life in New York City, and this is home. As a licensed Real Estate professional I often work from home, and have a flexible schedule. My one bedroom apartment, located in East Harlem (111th Street), has the space and ambience for your kitty to play. Since I have a backyard with trees your kitty can enjoy watching the birds and squirrels from the window.

Presley was 7 year old when he adopted me. He was chuck-full of personality. When I sat in a chair he’d jump in my lap. He constantly followed me around the house, slept in bed with me, and showed his discontent when I was going out. A very playful fellow he loved having his belly rubbed. He lived to be 14 years old and I miss him to this day.

My friend has a new kitty, just 6 months old. She gets very excited when I visit, jumps around and plays with everything that moves, chews on my fingers…ah, so adorable.

Laura LOVES cats and took really good care of our cat Obi. She didn't simply feed him, change his water and cleaned his litter. We were away for 2 weeks and Laura sent us daily updates with pics and videos of Obi playing with her, or doing the cat's thing; hanging out oblivious to human presence:) He obviously was in good hands. Laura understood Obi's routine immediately and went along with it . First eat, then play, then hang out, then little trip to the kitchen to check if by any miracle there was more food:) I highly recommend Laura. She will take good care of your furry friend.

Usman is a freelance jazz musician living in Crown Heights. He plays both piano and drums though only piano in the home. He teaches music privately and through after school programs. In his spare time Usman loves to practice yoga, cook new recipes, and discover new coffee shops in the city. He lives with his girlfriend, and her 3-year-old son spends 50% of his time with them. They all enjoy cat company and will be happy to help you with your cat/s.

If you live in Crown Heights and need to leave the city for a few days or weeks, Usman might be available and happy to help you with your cat/s. Boarding is recommended for your longer term needs, you bring your cat to the caregiver's apartment where she/he will be the only pet.
