We would like to introduce you to some of our caregivers. KITTY in NY has selected over the years some outstanding people who have one thing in common: they LOVE cats!

Tabish is a world traveler who has lived abroad and now resides in a charming one bedroom townhouse on the upper west side of Manhattan. 

Growing up in Kenya, I was surrounded by wildlife. One of my earliest memories as
a child of 4 or 5 years of age is watching a lion cub, the cutest thing I’d ever seen. I
wanted to take it home, but my dad said I could have a kitten instead that was just as cute and from the same family. The rest, as they say is my cat history.
I have worked in the humanitarian sector in Europe, Africa, and Asia, using my
fluency in English, Swahili, Punjabi and Urdu.

My other passion had always been for fashion. I studied towards a M.A at Central St Martins, London, which opened up opportunities to work with artisans in Kenya, Gambia and Nepal to create artisanal jewelry and textile collections. It also enhanced my inherent talent for fashion styling. My motto is, Wear Color Every Day.

Tabish provides both services: in-home boarding and cat sitting visits. If you decide to board your cat, your kitty will have plenty of room to roam and play in this book filled and antique furnished home. Tabish works from home, adores cats, and has cared for many. Tabish will enjoy visiting your cat/s in your apartment and will send an update after every visit.  She cherishes their affectionate nature and is looking forward to getting to know your darling!​

My name is Barbara and I can provide cat boarding in Forest Hills, Queens. Throughout my adult life I have lived with a cat. Having recently lost my cat (who lived to be 16-1/2 years old), boarding other people’s cats is a good way to continue to have them in my life. I am very sensitive to each particular cat’s personality and needs and will provide as much affection and attention as a cat indicates it wants.

I was born in Brooklyn but lived in San Francisco for 25 years. There, I worked as a Project Manager for a court-appointed Receiver/Bankruptcy Trustee and, following that, solely-owned a craft store. Since returning to New York City I worked in retail for 15 years at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

My L shaped studio apartment has nice windows and good space for cats to run around. I am retired and would be home much of each day. I would be happy to provide additional information about myself should you wish.

Cheryl was great! She was very nice when we first met her and made sure to know everything she needed to know about the cats in order to take care of them properly. We immediately knew she would be great for the cats because of the way she spoke to Batman when she first met him. Our cat Beans is very very shy but by the end of our trip, Beans was greeting Cheryl at the door. She’s very responsible, always sent us updates with photos and videos for every visit which was great for us as we didn’t have to text to make sure the cats were okay. She was also very responsive to any texts we sent. We’ve had some bad experiences with our neighbors cat sitting recently which is why we decided to finally bite the bullet and try out Kitty in Ny and we definitely made the right choice. I’m happy to tell you about, Cheryl, our cat sitter. Cheryl came to us in August 2020, just as restrictions due to the pandemic were easing. She was very highly recommended by friends who are very experienced cat owners who had used Cheryl’s services in the past and were very satisfied. 

Most years, Cheryl cared for my cats for 14 days in the summer and another 14 in the winter. Plus, she always made herself available on short notice when I had to leave town unexpectedly. 

Cheryl’s visits the cat twice each day to feed and water him and then spends 30 minutes in play. She often texts me photos or videos of a play session. It’s clear that the cat is having a ball. Murphy has behavioral issues but she deals with him effortlessly. It’s obvious that she cares for him and that he loves her. 

I usually worry about my cat when I’m out of the house for any length of time but I go on vacation with no anxiety because Cheryl is so reliable and. so intuitive in dealing with Murphy. I recommend her without qualification to anyone who is in need of a skilled, diligent professional. 

By the way, it doesn’t hurt that on top of everything else she’s a genuinely nice person.  An absolute pleasure to work with.

My name is Lori. I live in a pre-war 3 bedroom in the low W. 70’s near Broadway with my mother and my 12 year old son. I grew up in West Virginia, and always had pets. My favorite cat right before I moved to New York was named Smoky. We were inseparable. I specifically love cats. After I moved to New York, I rescued three cats. They were named Ghandi, Pudding and Sam. Sam lived to be nearly 19. I still miss him.

My son, Magnus, is very gentle and loves all animals. He wants to be a marine biologist. He always looks forward to summer camp at the Central Park zoo.

Hello, my name is Robin Dann. I have always loved animals as a kid. As an adult I had multiple cats of my own, mostly rescued strays. At the moment I do not own any pet but I do miss having them around! I have a cat-sitting experience and look forward to making it a regular part of my life. I live alone in a comfortable one-bedroom apartment, work part-time in a design studio and don’t go out much, so your pet will get lots of attention and play in your absence. The one bedroom apartment with plenty screened windows is in a doorman building. Apartment is on second floor. Building is located in Midwood neighborhood in Brooklyn NY.

My kitty was very nervous and wasn't eating very well. Norma spent a lot of time trying to get him to eat, and bought more food for him to once we realized the food I left wasn't going to work. She made a comfortable space for him in her closet so he could feel safe. She stuck to his feeding schedule of four times a day -- which I understand is a lot for most people! I appreciate the extra care she took for my nervous kitty.

Julius came back in fine spirits - he obviously had a good time and he’s much happier than had he gone to the cattery - at the cattery he would usually not eat and would come home clearly very distraught and would take 2 or 3 days to pull out of his depression caused by the cattery. So anyways Norma was 10 out of 10 - her studio apt is actually pretty large and has a big kitchen and bathroom - it would have to be 600 square feet - and it’s bigger than our west village 1 bedroom with 520 square feet.
