Marie was very friendly and professional. I even accidentally locked her out, and she informed me immediately and worked with me to get access to my apartment so that she could take care of Oliver (oops!). I told Marie that she didn't need to scoop the litter daily really, but Marie did because she clearly cared about how Oliver was doing! She sent me very cute videos and clearly took care of my old guy. And she even brought up the dry cleaning the doorman handed her (!! definitely not intended). Couldn't recommend Marie more, she's fantastic :)

I've always been a big animal lover for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a beloved cat and many other pets including a dog and I actually thought I was a dog person for a long time, until I lived with two cats in 2020 and fell in love again! There's nothing more special than a bond with a cat, and I truly love meeting each one and discovering how unique their personalities are. I'm a gouache/watercolor artist and often paint animals and pet portraits; I even discovered a lot of old drawings from when I was a kid were of cats! I think it's so important to give your cat space at first and get to know them, I'm a gentle empath and will make sure your cat has the best stay in my home. I'll provide lots of cuddles and playtime - if that's what they like! I'm also a film nerd and love watching old 80's and 90's thrillers, riding my bike around Brooklyn, and recently took up knitting which goes well with my cat girl status. I'd love to get to know your kitty BFF!

I've been boarding cats in my apartment for about three years now and it's been the best, so I'm ready to start doing home visits to meet more cats! :) I'm super communicative, reliable, and will send lots of photos and videos. I always make sure to spend a lot of time with your cat giving them love and attention and lots of play time. I'm also a neat freak and will make sure I leave your space tidy and clean. I think cats are super sensitive and emotional beings and can sense your energy right away so I try to always match their behavior and give them enough space if they need, and I find they usually warm up to me pretty quickly. Sidra looked after our cat Ripley for 3 months while he was waiting for an export permit to travel overseas. Couldn't have asked for a better carer. Phil has decades of experience with cats and a special gift for caring for those with medical needs, including administering pills, injections, fluids, and more. He brings patience, warmth, and a great sense of humor to every feline guest he hosts in his Union Square apartment. While his home is a bit aged and modest, clients consistently rave about Phil’s outstanding care, detailed updates, and the clear bond he forms with their cats. Many have told us they wouldn’t leave their kitties with anyone else!

I had my first kitty in college and my second while living in San Francisco. Returning to New York, I lived for years in a building where I could not have any pets. So when I moved to my current location, in Manhattan's East Village, I made up for lost time. That was way, way back in 1992. I contacted an animal rescue agency named BeingKind. (That was the precursor to KittyKind in Petco.) Soon I took in a family of six abandoned cats from BeingKind. I included an old scratched photo, taken before the days of cell phones and similar devices. The momma and poppa cats were about a year and a half old. Teenagers in Love I called them. The four kittens were six weeks old and just learning to walk. They were about the size of my hand (not counting the tails). I eventually adopted out two kitties and kept four felines to myself.

They all lived exceedingly long lives, so I must have been doing something right. The momma cat lived to 18 years of age, the poppa and one daughter both lived to 19, and the final daughter lived very close to 21 (about 20 years and 9 months).

After the family went to Kitty's Heaven, I took a break from being a caretaker. That ended in about nine months. One night I went dancing at Barefoot Boogie (highly recommended) and met someone who worked for Kitty in New York. That marked the beginning of the next phase of my love for felines, as I soon became an Official Kitty Caregiver.

I can now offer lots of love, a spacious one bedroom apartment, and decades of experience for my feline friends. I am able to give injections, pills, subcutaneous fluids, and blood glucose monitoring for cats with medical needs.

I am now partly retired but work about 20 hours a week as a psychotherapist. This allows me the luxury to spend lots of time with my four-legged friends. As you might guess, I love to write so I enjoy sending frequent emails or texts plus loads of photos to cat owners. This allows the owners to enjoy their vacations or business trips, knowing that their kitties are happy and doing well.

Phil is the best cat sitter we've ever had out of the dozen plus we've worked with over the last 15 years.

He's kind, considerate, thoughtful, and caring. He listened to all of our concerns and followed our care instructions word by word. He took care of our cat with love, giving her the space she needed whenever she needed, as she's a cranky one.

For 3 months our 19-year-old Persian Chinchilla was in his care, a long stay required by an urgent trip abroad we needed to take. His communications were regular from beginning to end, about 1 email with a picture every 3 to 4 days. He responded to us always within a day and brought up any concerning issue with our elderly cat.

When we wanted to know more about her eating, bathroom, or movement habits, he included them in detail in his emails, which were always a pleasure to read. Phil has a gift with words. This was such a great experience! My cat has to take 2 pills/day, eye ointment in one eye and eye drops in the other. The schedule for administrating the meds is intense with the ointment being 3x day. Phil administered all the meds with ease and on time! Spike the cat was super comfortable with Phil and was sleeping with him by day 3. I received email updates with pictures of Spike every few days, and very much enjoyed Phil’s writing style.

Tabish is a world traveler who has lived abroad and now resides in a charming one bedroom townhouse on the upper west side of Manhattan.

Growing up in Kenya, I was surrounded by wildlife. One of my earliest memories as
a child of 4 or 5 years of age is watching a lion cub, the cutest thing I’d ever seen. I
wanted to take it home, but my dad said I could have a kitten instead that was just as cute and from the same family. The rest, as they say is my cat history.
I have worked in the humanitarian sector in Europe, Africa, and Asia, using my
fluency in English, Swahili, Punjabi and Urdu.

My other passion had always been for fashion. I studied towards a M.A at Central St Martins, London, which opened up opportunities to work with artisans in Kenya, Gambia and Nepal to create artisanal jewelry and textile collections. It also enhanced my inherent talent for fashion styling. My motto is, Wear Color Every Day.

My experience with cats is as follows… A young mother cat in my building’s basement was to be displaced and then to be adopted but there was no one to take the rest of her litter. So I volunteered to foster them until they found new homes. For two months I raised 3 month old kittens until they found good homes. I bottle fed them until they transitioned fully to wet and dry food. They were the sweetest kittens I’ve ever encountered and have since been rehomed to wonderful and loving families.

When it comes the feline species, I am a natural! I love cats and have a relaxed, and perhaps intuitive, relationship with them. I've adopted many cats over the years, the most difficult of which was inherited when I moved into a friend's vacated apartment. The cat wouldn't come near me nor anyone, as it had been abused. It stayed in the backyard and I had to put its food on the stoop outside. Any attempt to pet or go near it meant hissing and scratching. I slowly nurtured it and within 3 months, this cat was sleeping peacefully on my bed! Since getting my first apartment in college, I have had cats, so I have literally a lifetime of owning or caring for cats - life is just better with them in it. I have plenty of experience caring for other people's cats - both in my and their home. I never feel a cat is a stranger, and I am confident when they meet me they know they are in the company of a kindred spirit.

The other half of my life I live as a Feng Shui consultant. I have a small business, and am passionate about bringing positive change to individuals and small businesses. I have lived in different parts of the country, traveled extensively in India and the U.K. and owned my own small coffee shop in the East Village for 10 years. In my practice I help people clear toxicity, lighten their load and teach them how to live in a clutter-free, energy-enhanced supportive environment.

Cheryl was great! She was very nice when we first met her and made sure to know everything she needed to know about the cats in order to take care of them properly. I’m happy to tell you about, Cheryl, our cat sitter. Cheryl came to us in August 2020, just as restrictions due to the pandemic were easing. She was very highly recommended by friends who are very experienced cat owners who had used Cheryl’s services in the past and were very satisfied.

Most years, Cheryl cared for my cats for 14 days in the summer and another 14 in the winter. Plus, she always made herself available on short notice when I had to leave town unexpectedly.

Cheryl’s visits the cat twice each day to feed and water him and then spends 30 minutes in play. She often texts me photos or videos of a play session. It’s clear that the cat is having a ball. Murphy has behavioral issues but she deals with him effortlessly. It’s obvious that she cares for him and that he loves her.

I usually worry about my cat when I’m out of the house for any length of time but I go on vacation with no anxiety because Cheryl is so reliable and. so intuitive in dealing with Murphy. I recommend her without qualification to anyone who is in need of a skilled, diligent professional.

By the way, it doesn’t hurt that on top of everything else she’s a genuinely nice person. An absolute pleasure to work with.

We could tell that Cheryl has had many years of experience and is a pro when it comes to caring for cats - Piko was very comfortable and felt right at home within a day of being at Cheryl's. I would 100% use her again for cat boarding and highly recommend her to anyone who needs the service. Thank you again Cheryl!

Cheryl was an amazing cat sitter. Clearly passionate about kitties, she made friends with Ziggy right away and regularly sent me videos of them playing and him enjoying her place. Ziggy has stayed with Cheryl a few times and we've become friends. Sometimes I think Ziggy prefers staying with her!

Hi, I’m Ruthie! I’m a college student here in New York City with a lifelong love for cats. Growing up, I took care of my two beloved cats, handling their feeding, cleanup, and medication needs.
