Hello! My name is Ruxandra Iancu and I've been an animal lover my whole life. I've had dogs, cats and a bunny, who lived happily to be 8 and a half years old. I don't currently have any pets and would love the opportunity to either house a cat in my own home, for the duration of your vacations, or to stop by your place and make sure your kitty gets some quality time, play time and proper care.

If you are leaving the city for a short trip we recommend cat sitting visits. A caregiver will visit your cat in your apartment. For your longer term needs in-home boarding is the perfect solution. You bring your cat to the caregiver's apartment where she/he will be treated and their own pet. Your cat will be the only pet in the apartment. Ruxandra is an amazing caregiver. This was my second time working with her. The first time, she fed my cats in my home, the second time, I boarded my cats in her home. Both times, she was incredibly attentive, asked great questions, was extremely communicative and caring, and sent great photos on a regular basis. My cats are very particular and aren't used to strangers, and took to Ruxandra very quickly. She is clearly an animal whisperer and has kind, calm, energy. I would not hesitate to use her again or to recommend her. It made my trip so much less stressful knowing my kitties were in a loving, caring environment!

We would like to introduce you to some of our caregivers. KITTY in NY has selected over the years some outstanding people who have one thing in common: they LOVE cats!

A native of Romania, I lived in Belgium for a number of years before coming to the US. I now very much enjoy life in New York City, and this is home. As a licensed Real Estate professional I often work from home, and have a flexible schedule. My one bedroom apartment, located in East Harlem (111th Street), has the space and ambience for your kitty to play. Since I have a backyard with trees your kitty can enjoy watching the birds and squirrels from the window.

Presley was 7 year old when he adopted me. He was chuck-full of personality. When I sat in a chair he’d jump in my lap. He constantly followed me around the house, slept in bed with me, and showed his discontent when I was going out. A very playful fellow he loved having his belly rubbed. He lived to be 14 years old and I miss him to this day.

My friend has a new kitty, just 6 months old. She gets very excited when I visit, jumps around and plays with everything that moves, chews on my fingers…ah, so adorable.

Laura provides cat sitting visits in the Upper East Side and East Harlem. Laura is the perfect option. Cat sitting is a great option for short term services or a very shy cat. She will take care of you cat/s until you return. Contact us and send more details about the service you need.

Laura LOVES cats and took really good care of our cat Obi. She didn't simply feed him, change his water and cleaned his litter. We were away for 2 weeks and Laura sent us daily updates with pics and videos of Obi playing with her, or doing the cat's thing; hanging out oblivious to human presence:) He obviously was in good hands. Laura understood Obi's routine immediately and went along with it . First eat, then play, then hang out, then little trip to the kitchen to check if by any miracle there was more food:) I highly recommend Laura. She will take good care of your furry friend.

At KITTY in NY we are proud to work with a wonderful network of caregivers. Over the years, we’ve chosen people who share one special quality: a genuine love for cats!

My name is Barbara and I can provide cat sitting services in Forest Hills, Queens. Throughout my adult life I have lived with a cat. Having recently lost my cat (who lived to be 16-1/2 years old), taking care of other people’s cats is a good way to continue to have them in my life. I am very sensitive to each particular cat’s personality and needs and will provide as much affection and attention as a cat indicates it wants.

I was born in Brooklyn but lived in San Francisco for 25 years. There, I worked as a Project Manager for a court-appointed Receiver/Bankruptcy Trustee and, following that, solely-owned a craft store. Since returning to New York City I worked in retail for 15 years at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

My L shaped studio apartment has nice windows and good space for cats to run around. I am retired and would be home much of each day. I would be happy to provide additional information about myself should you wish.

If you are located in Forest Hills and need to leave the city for a few days, Barbara might be available to help you with your cat/s. Cat sitting is a great option for your cat’s comfort, since our caregiver visits your home to provide care, attention, and companionship while you’re gone. I grew up with two Maine Coon cats in the beautiful state of Maine and have fostered frequently over the years. I also worked for 3 years part-time at an animal daycare. I am comfortable giving medication, performing animal CPR, and handling aggressive cats, amongst normal activities! Please let me know if your pet is reactive, allergic to anything, or has any particular likes & dislikes! I'd love to know as much about your cat(s) as possible, so he/she feels comfortable and safe with a new companion!
