Cat Boarding in Crown Heights, Brooklyn: Meet Meghan

6/29/2026

Finding the right place for your cat while you are away can make all the difference. Some cats do best in a calm home environment where they can settle in, explore at their own pace, and receive personal attention without the stress of being surrounded by other animals. For cat parents looking for in-home cat boarding in Brooklyn, Meghan offers a quiet, comfortable, and cat-ready space in Crown Heights.

Meghan lives in a clean and modern one-bedroom apartment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Her home is peaceful and well suited for cats who enjoy a relaxed environment. The apartment is calm, tidy, and prepared to welcome feline guests, with fully screened windows for added safety. Because Meghan does not have pets of her own at the moment, visiting cats can enjoy her apartment as the only pets in the home.

Meghan grew up in a house with cats and has loved being around them her whole life. That early experience helped her understand how different each cat can be. Some cats want attention right away, while others need time to adjust to a new space. Meghan is attentive to those differences and understands the importance of respecting each cat’s routine, personality, and comfort level.
Picture
She enjoys giving cats attention and playtime when they are in the mood, but she also knows when to give them space. Her home is especially suitable for cats who prefer a calm environment and one-on-one attention.

In her free time, Meghan enjoys going for walks, spending time in the park, trying new restaurants, traveling, reading, and practicing yoga. Her calm and grounded personality is reflected in the kind of environment she offers: relaxed, warm, and welcoming.

For Brooklyn cat owners, Meghan’s Crown Heights location is a convenient option for in-home cat boarding.

At Kitty in NY, we specialize in cat sitting and in-home cat boarding throughout New York City. Our boarding service allows your cat to stay in a caregiver’s private apartment, where your cat will be the only pet in the home. For cats who prefer to remain in their own familiar environment, we also offer cat sitting visits in the client’s apartment. We serve Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and nearby areas, helping cat owners find safe, loving, and personalized care while they travel.

All I have to say is that when I went to pick my cat Milan from Erica he was better! She even was able to clean his paws which I could not do. I have to find out what her secret was lol! But I highly recommend Erica to take care of your cat baby. She’s sweet and kind. Also when I went to pick up my cat after my vacation everything was totally clean out the litter box his water fountain and his bowls. She’s the sweetest person. I’m definitely using her again when I go away. Milan loves her too.

We want to let you know that Erica provided excellent care of Persha during our trip last week. Erica closely followed our instructions, sent daily updates, and offered a safe and loving environment to our kitty. Persha was a bit reluctant to engage at first, but by the end of the week, Erica had established a warm relationship with her. We would like to recommend Erica very highly to your future clients.

We were also very pleased to work with you and KITTY in NY in placing Persha. You made the process easy and stress-free!

Thank you, John!

At Kitty in NY, we are always happy to introduce caring, responsible cat lovers who can provide a safe and comfortable home for your cat while you are away. Today we would like to introduce Andrea, a wonderful caregiver located in Harlem, Manhattan.

Andrea lives in a spacious one-bedroom apartment with plenty of natural light. Her home is clean, comfortable, and fully prepared to welcome a visiting cat. All windows are screened, and the apartment offers enough room for a cat to explore, relax, look outside, or find a quiet corner when needed.

Andrea has had cats for most of her adult life and cared for her own cat for 15 years. Although she does not currently have pets, she misses having a cat around and would love to share her home with a guest cat while helping another cat parent travel with peace of mind.

One of Andrea’s strengths is that she understands that every cat has a different personality. Some cats are affectionate right away, while others need time, space, and patience before they feel comfortable. Andrea knows how important it is to respect a cat’s boundaries and allow each cat to adjust at their own pace.

Andrea is a retired nurse and has experience with pills and injections, which can be very helpful for cats who need medication during their stay. Her attentive and calm personality makes her a great option for cat boarding, especially for owners looking for a quiet, stable, and loving home environment.

Finding the right cat boarding option in New York City can make a big difference when you need to travel. Some cats do better in a calm home environment where they can receive regular attention, gentle care, and a consistent routine. Elliot offers cat boarding in a spacious and very clean one-bedroom apartment in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where he lives with his girlfriend.

Elliot’s apartment is well suited for visiting cats. All windows are screened, and the home provides a peaceful, comfortable space where a cat can settle in while their owner is away. The apartment is spacious and cat ready, which helps create a relaxed environment for cats who may need a little time to adjust to a new place.

One of the advantages of Elliot’s setup is that he works from home. This allows him to offer regular presence, attention, and supervision throughout the day. For many cats, especially those who enjoy quiet company or need reassurance in a new environment, having someone nearby can be very helpful.

Elliot has a genuine love for cats and understands the importance of patience and softness when caring for them. His approach is calm and respectful, giving each cat the time and space they need to build trust. He grew up surrounded by pets, including several cats, and is comfortable with different personalities and temperaments.

What Is Your Cat Really Saying?

6/9/2026

Anyone who lives with a cat knows that cats have their own way of “talking.” A short meow by the food bowl, a dramatic cry from another room, or a soft trill when you come home can all mean different things.

Scientists are now paying more attention to feline communication. Domestic cats seem to use meows mostly with humans, not with other adult cats. Over time, many cats develop their own personal vocabulary with the people they live with. Your cat may have one sound for food, another for attention, and another for “please open this door right now.”

New AI tools are being designed to analyze cat vocalizations and identify possible meanings, such as hunger, stress, affection, or discomfort. These tools are still developing, and they cannot replace a loving owner’s observation, but they show something cat lovers already know: cats are intelligent, expressive, and very good at training humans to understand them.

The key is context. A meow means more when we notice where the cat is, what time it is, her body language, and whether her behavior has changed. A sudden increase in crying, or a big change in vocal habits, may also be a sign that a vet visit is needed.
Picture
At Kitty in NY, we know every cat has her own personality, routine, and communication style. Our cat sitting service lets your cat stay comfortable at home while a caring sitter checks food, water, litter, and provides attention. We also offer in-home boarding with carefully selected caregivers for cats who do well in a calm, cat-friendly home.

Whether your cat is shy, playful, talkative, senior, or wonderfully mysterious, Kitty in NY can help you find the right care while you are away. Contact us to learn more about our boarding and sitting services in New York City.

We are happy to introduce Kimberly, one of our Brooklyn caregivers available for cat boarding. Kimberly lives with her sister and brother-in-law in a spacious two-bedroom apartment that is extremely clean, comfortable, and well suited for hosting cats. All windows are screened, which is an important safety requirement for our boarding homes.

Kimberly has always loved animals and grew up with pets, including her beloved childhood cat, Panther. She has also cared for and boarded cats for family and friends, giving her practical experience with different feline personalities and routines. She describes herself as detailed and punctual, qualities we value highly when matching caregivers with our clients.

Kimberly shares her home with family members who are also comfortable around cats and supportive of the boarding arrangement. She works in customer service, so she understands the importance of clear communication, reliability, and helping clients feel reassured while they are away. She is attentive, responsible, and comfortable following detailed care instructions, including medication when clearly explained by the cat’s owner.
Picture
At Kitty in NY, we offer two types of cat care services. With boarding, your cat stays in the caregiver’s home, where they receive attention, care, and a comfortable environment while you are away. With cat sitting, one of our caregivers visits your home to feed your cat, refresh water, clean the litter box, and provide companionship.

If you are looking for cat boarding or cat sitting in New York City, please contact us. We will be happy to help you find the best option for your cat’s personality, routine, and needs.

I appreciated the almost daily updates with photos. William is reliable, attentive and clearly loves cats. Chango warmed up to him rapidly, which is quite rare.

William went the extra mile and kindly helped me carry Chango’s stuff over to his place using his rolling cart. I’m tremendously grateful to him for this thoughtful gesture!

I would gladly leave Chango in William’s care again

William did an amazing job caring for my 4 month old kitten. He gave him the attention he needed as a playful kitten and sent frequent updates that helped me relax while I was away. He is very knowledgeable with cats and very attentive to their behaviours!

William took fantastic care of my cats Remy and Georgia in August! They are young and can be a handful and he handled them great. Georgia is a kitten and it was her first time being at a sitter… She refused to eat for several days, but William was so great about trying everything he could to get her to eat, and she finally did!
I would definitely recommend and use him again. I also loved how communicative he was - especially when I knew Georgia was not eating, he was giving me plenty of updates that helped me not to worry too much.

William took excellent care of my cat who is pretty high maintenance and not very sociable. He made a point of learning about her preferences, daily routine, eating habits, likes and dislikes, etc. From the moment I met William I knew that my cat would be in very good hands. William loves and understands cats. He sent me daily updates with pictures and videos. My cat is rather hard to please and is not usually friendly with strangers. I was amazed at how quickly she warmed up to William. They say that cats are good judges of character. William is such a warm, kind and caring person that even my shy and unsocial cat felt at ease with him. I think she received more attention from him that she does from me. I would highly recommend William and will be happy to use his services in the future.

William was extremely attentive to my cats and was very patient to learn about each of their individual personalities. He provided me many updates and I felt very at ease knowing that he was providing very high quality care. His updates each day were also very thoughtful -- I didn't worry at all while I was away. I think William is my favorite sitter so far since discovering Kitty in NY. He truly deserves more credit!!

Everything went really well for my cat Matilda’s stay with William.

William took really good care of Matilda, was very thoughtful for her needs and kept me updated throughout. She settled in straight away and looked very relaxed and happy which gave me huge peace of mind while away.

We will be in touch next time we go away so we can book William to care for her again!

Mohammed lives with his wife in a clean, spacious one-bedroom apartment. Their home is calm, well kept, and thoughtfully prepared for cats, with screened windows for added safety. Both Mohammed and his wife genuinely enjoy the company of cats and understand how important it is for pet parents to feel confident when they are away.

He is intelligent, responsible, and easy to communicate with, which helps make the booking process smooth for both clients and our team. He understands that every cat has a different personality, routine, and comfort level, and he is happy to follow each cat’s specific needs. His goal is to make every cat feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for while their owners are away. Picture
Mohammed’s home in Astoria offers a peaceful setting for cat boarding. His clean apartment, screened windows, and gentle approach help create a safe and comfortable space for cats while their families travel. For many clients, boarding with one of our caregivers is a great alternative to traditional cat sitting, especially when they prefer their cat to have more direct companionship during their time away.
